Picture this. You are living in your dream-city. Making a good start of your career or at least are on the path of making one. And one day you get a call from your parents (from your home) asking you to pack-up and come home for a day or two because you have to “settle down” NOW. It is a common phrasing used in families: “padh likh li ab shaddi kar lo” for girls, and for boys “achi job lag gai, bhagwan ki krupa se, ab achi bahu mil jaaye”. This situation is not just seen in movies or soaps, but they happen for real. It has happened with me. And am pretty sure with many of us reading this.

We all search and wait for that perfect person who would be with us, no matter what. He is the one who will lead you through the path that seemed impossible to walked on in the beginning but with him behind you or beside you (doesn't matter how, what matters is his presence) that would make you a li'l more confident of where you are walking.

Most of us feel that if you stay away from your hometown, for studies or job (hometown here means where your parents or in-laws or husband (in case of nuclear family) stays), then you would get alienated from family, that you won’t value the needs and the kind of devotion is required being a family member. Not so long ago I shared the same thought but staying away for almost 2 years, from my ‘hometown’, now I do not share the thought any longer.

The call - the ringtone… she had customized her ringtone not because she wanted to pick it up, no matter how much ever busy she is, but to brace herself for what would eventually follow the ringtone when she answers it. She wanted a break and if she couldn’t avoid the talk, at least she could prepare herself for the inevitable talk-cum-lecture, she has been receiving for past few months now. What else could you expect from the call of parents to their daughter who is in her last semester of completing her education (this is irrespective of graduation or post-graduation), in Indian terms- of age?? Marriage. *Drum Rolls*

It started with room no.18 → progressed to LBS Marg, Mulund → landed me back again to flat no. 20, Pune → now I am in office (doing internship again) in Pune this time. Well it’s my 2nd week here and familiar with few people around, now, at least the ones around me. An anecdote from my book of life so far…

Recently I saw a video that brought back memories of 90’s. It made me nostalgic as well as kind of made me see the purity that was found, then. It portrayed how closely-knitted we were back then when having a telephone or television was a privilege, not just that but its usability was shared not in a family but by complete colony, in some cases.

From the time human were created they always needed someone with whom they can belong to. Even though Eve was the prey to the hands of Serpent, Adam didn’t leave her rather stood by her and bore the wrath of God with her. She, on the other hand wanted Adam to be a part of her pleasure even though it turned out to be a disaster in the end.
